How We Met
We met in the woods behind my uncle’s house when we were all celebrating a friend’s birthday sitting around a fire and talking about whatever 16 and 17-year-olds talked about. Then we went exploring through the woods and we came across a huge spider in its web. Pretty sure this is when she knew I was the one because I promptly opened fire on the spider with a can of bug spray and a lighter and I neutralized the threat, saving her life.

First Date
Our first date was the homecoming dance at my high school. I asked her to the dance by writing the question on a can of monster energy because by best friend said she liked monster which turned out to be completely false. She actually didn’t read the can and offered it to her friend that does drink monster before that friend gave her the hint that it was for her for a big reason. Once she realized what was happening, she turned beat red and said yes of course she would go to the dance with me. She still has the can, she didn’t drink it but I didn’t let it go to waste.

Proposal
I proposed to her on our little vacation to hocking hills. One night I whipped up some burgers on the grill for dinner and we hung out on the porch of our cabin eating and having a few adult beverages. We had our favorite music going and we decided to get into the hot tub and enjoy the clear nights sky. I got up to “grab another beer” and came back with the ring box in my swim trunks and hopped back in. I waited until our song came on in the playlist and I took the ring box and acted like I had just found it at the bottom of the hot tub. I popped the big question, and she turned the same color red as when I asked her out to the dance and of course she said yes, and I swear as soon as she said yes, I looked up into the stars and saw my first ever shooting star.

PERSPECTIVE
How We Met
Strangely enough, we met at Ethan’s parent’s house. So, I never really had a big ‘meet the family’ moment. My friend was dating one of his friends, and she brought me over to a bonfire they were having in the woods by Ethan’s house. As we were walking through the woods to get to our spot, there was this huge wolf spider, that he decided to light on fire. And that’s when I knew I loved him. Nah I’m just kidding that didn’t happen until later.

First Date
Our first ‘date’ was, again, at his parent’s house. He had asked me to homecoming a week or two earlier, and I didn’t even realize he was doing that when he did it. We were at a football game and out of nowhere he gives me this Monster energy drink. Turns out I was too stupid to realize it said ‘HC?’ on it. When I finally garnered up the courage to hang out with him after that, we decided to play guitar hero. My friend told me Ethan was terrible at it, turns out he was on expert and I could barely get past medium. When he was about to take me home, we ended up talking outside for at least an hour. That’s when I realized maybe this could work…

Proposal
I don’t think many people can say they got proposed to in a hot tub. Yeah. So, we were spending a few days in Hocking Hills. It was the second to last day that we were there, and it was getting pretty late, and Ethan wanted to go out to the hot tub one last time. We got in, and as I’m relaxing Ethan starts talking about this box he found in the hot tub that he’s been sitting on. And I’m thinking, “Like a compartment? What’s in it?”. Then he pulled out the ring, and I was beyond surprised. And that’s our story. :)
